Hey there! I’m trying to figure out what might have caused this issue. It seems like the problem disappeared, but I’m still curious about what could have happened. The title doesn’t really capture the situation well, so let me clarify a bit.

There was a strange behavior where my PC would power on and off repeatedly every time I turned it on. It wasn’t a typical shutdown or error—just a sudden reboot after a short delay. I had everything plugged in except the power strip, and I didn’t change any settings or hardware recently.

About a month before this started, I installed a Thunderbolt PCI-e card. After that, the problem continued. I removed it but left the internal cables connected to the motherboard. I also didn’t update the BIOS or make any changes inside the PC except for taking out the Thunderbolt card once it became apparent the issue was there.

After cleaning everything and putting the CPU back in, the problem went away. Now that I’ve cleaned the whole system, it’s running smoothly again—especially after gaming. The only concern was a bit of dust in the power supply, which might have affected cooling during intense use.

I’m still trying to understand what triggered this. If anyone has any insights or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!

I didn't consider PC specifications crucial for this build, but sure. The Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming board paired with a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance 3600 MHz RAM, an RTX 4070 Dual, a Seasonic G12-650 PSU, three SATA SSDs, two M.2 drives, and some Asus Hyperion G701 case RGB were all accounted for. I estimated the peak power usage based on typical performance, keeping in mind my GPU rarely hits 190W and CPU stays under 100W. Together with other components, it could reach around 350, possibly near 400 if everything runs at full capacity, though I’m skeptical the whole system exceeds 380.
