The title hints at the problem. Recently my computer stopped working on its own and restarted, which has been really annoying. It keeps happening unexpectedly while I’m playing or using certain apps. Sometimes it works for hours but then crashes again. I’ve checked temperatures, updated drivers, cleaned the system, changed RAM, and everything looks fine. My hardware is new from 2020 and all parts are brand new. I’m trying to fix the issue with Valorant but keep getting bans.
Is it simply a hard reboot? Or could it be a BOSD, assuming no error codes appear? I’d suspect a failing power supply is the most likely cause so far. Are there any unusual signs in the event viewer during shutdown? Just to eliminate other possibilities, does it transition to a shutdown screen before powering off completely, or does it end abruptly with a black screen? If the system just stops unexpectedly after pressing the power button, a faulty power button might be the issue.
I’m not sure because I don’t want to mess with the BIOS; it seems XMP is probably active, so 3200MHz should work.
It's not uncommon for computers to experience sudden crashes, especially after prolonged use. A 7-hour gaming session can put a lot of strain on the system.
