I recently changed my 4690K to a 5820K in my system. Everything remains the same—same OS, drives, everything. I’ve noticed unexpected slowdowns that happen randomly. I added a couple more PCIe cards, only two more than before, and the increase from 16 to 28 lanes should help. However, I’m experiencing significant slowdowns just using the OS now. My mouse freezes occasionally, and games show screen tearing more often. Frame rates drop in games I normally run smoothly on both CPUs, unlike when I used the GTX770 with my 5820K. With a GTX1070, the problems seem to have worsened. I’m considering reinstalling drivers or even reformatting the system. It feels like something is off. I don’t see any malware or viruses, but there are strange display issues—games think my monitor is 1080p when it’s actually 1440p, and my old 900p monitor shows weird behavior. The lower single-core performance of my CPU might be a factor, but it doesn’t explain everything. What should I do?
