System powers up yet fails to maintain state
I purchased the components and assembled my new PC. After completing a pre-assembly test and confirming the hardware functions, I learned how to properly connect the essential parts. Eventually, after reassembling everything inside the case, the system started but failed to boot, showing no display this time. The internal components operated normally (fans, RGBs, etc.), but it powered off after a few seconds and restarted immediately to restart the process. The motherboard's diagnostic lights only illuminated the red CPU indicator, though I wasn't sure why since I'd verified the CPU and settings. I reduced everything to just the working connections from the pre-test, but the issue persisted. I've double and triple checked all connections without success. If anyone has suggestions on resolving this, I'd really appreciate it. Good early check -- check your RAM's SKU against the board manufacturer's QVL list for the board and processor pairing you have. I've seen some strange and annoying issues that turned out to be RAM that wasn't recommended due to stability issues. And there has been an interesting pattern of such issues posted by many people in recent months that I suspect is related.
I’m not entirely confident about my actions, but I found my motherboard in the Memories QVL. It seems I was checking the right section for RAM but didn’t locate the exact model. I’m not sure if my search was too limited or anything similar. Also, I don’t think incompatibility is the issue, because it functioned properly during the pre-boot and was recognized by the BIOS.
