System powering up yet not visible on the display.

Hey there! a little back story to my issue. My PC was upgraded in April. Ryzen 7 3800x, RTX 2060, Corsair 32GB RAM. Since then everything was perfect! I even logged in yesterday and used my pc for a few hours. I left my PC on and a few hours later I go to try and log in and the PC is on but nothing is showing on my monitors. So I tried I restart and nothing. I went to micro center today and purchased a new motherboard. I put everything together and as I am trying to turn it on it powers on but once again nothing is showing on my monitors. - I already tried connecting the HDMI to the motherboard and disconnecting the GPU and still nothing. would appreciate some help please!

the 3800x lacks an igpu, meaning the mobile hdmi won’t display anything. since you’ve already upgraded your mobile to a new one, I’d suggest switching to an rma for the GPU. Have you tested another monitor and cable? Did you use just one ram stick?

Thanks for the update. I've tested a new cable/monitor and the RAM stick too. My worry is whether the issue lies with the CPU.

it's possible, do you have access to either, a different gpu/cpu to test in your pc, or a different pc to test your gpu/cpu in? that would be the easiest way to narrow it down. gpu is still more likely imo though.

Yes, the PC would likely shut down or fail to display anything if the CPU was the root cause of the problem.

it can occur that way, yeah. no good way to narrow it down further that i can think of. hopefully someone else with some ideas will chime in.
