System powering off unexpectedly
Hello, it seems this PC stops working unexpectedly. Power remains on, Windows acts as if it was instructed to shut down, and it occurs roughly once a month or so. There’s no sign of overheating, sleep or hibernate functions are turned off. I’ve checked the time and date in Event Viewer but didn’t see any entries matching that period. The system runs smoothly on the desktop, and the power supply appears sufficient for the components. Any suggestions?
Win10x64 Pro 1909 18363.778 was recorded. I checked the Event Viewer and found several entries around that moment, but this seems to be the relevant one (?). There are discussions online, yet no clear fix available: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> User32 provider logged an event with ID 1074 at version 0, level 4, task 0, opcode 0. Keywords: 0x8080000000000000. Time: 2020-05-18 12:43:50. Channel: System, Computer: DESKTOP- Security UserID: S-1-5-18 />
Locate the process using its ID in Task Manager. Also, verify any unauthorized programs via Autoruns.
This indicates a process named "csrss.exe" is running, likely related to client-server operations. It suggests the system is executing a server-side application.
Occurred once more using identical code. What changed this time? The step C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe has started turning off the computer DESKTOP- for user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM due to a missing title. Reason code 0x500ff. Shutdown type: power off. Comment: No specific reason identified.
