System power-off occurred and remains inactive.
I was gaming yesterday and then suddenly my PC stopped working without any blue screen. The motherboard lights are on, but when I press the power button it doesn’t turn on. After unplugging the power and plugging it back in, the fans spin briefly on the first press but stop afterward. Only after reconnecting does the fan start again. It might be an overcurrent protection issue. This seems like a fairly old system: I7-6700K, 980TI, 32GB. Any suggestions?
Hey there! It looks like your mainboard or power supply might be damaged. You should start by clearing the CMOS, though you might need to swap parts later if it doesn’t fix things. I’d suggest replacing the PSU first and bringing it back for a refund if it doesn’t work. It’s going to be a bit of a hassle, but it’s worth a try.
