System performance slows significantly while playing games.
Hello, I’ve already received assistance from helpful individuals in the community, but I’m hoping to get more support regarding my issue. Essentially, whenever I play games like bf4, black ops 3 zombies, valorant, or mw warzone, my CPU clock speed drops significantly—from a solid 3200 MHz down to around 1300–1900 MHz. My GPU remains unaffected and stays at about 1700 MHz even at high temperatures. I’m using a Dell G7 7588 with an i7 8750H, a max Q of 1060, and just recently replaced the CPU and GPU components. I also removed the thermal pads and sanded the copper heatsink to eliminate dried liquid metal buildup. Additionally, I undervolted my CPU by -100.6 mV and set its maximum clock speed limit to 3200 MHz in the TPL section to test if that would resolve the problem, but it didn’t seem to work. Please help me out and thank you for your support.
To anyone who looks at this post to help, this is an update So a miracle happened and somehow my core clocks went back to normal. The cpu stays decently at the range of 2800-3300 Mhz when gaming and at a temp of 85 degrees C but my gpu went back to 77 degrees C when gaming and lowered the clock speed slightly from 1700 to 1400 Mhz which is not bad at all. I hope this can stay constant in the future and THANK ALL OF THE PEOPLE that helped me. I cannot appreciate you guys enough. If the problem occurs once again, I'm probably going to make another post, but I hope that won't be the case Hope to not see this problem again!
