System performance issues during startup on a PC.
I'm experiencing this bothersome issue, where my PC starts up and the small circular icons become sluggish or freeze. At the desktop, the mouse also slows down and stutters. Restarting the computer resolves the problem temporarily. I haven't identified the root cause yet and noticed it's been happening consistently, almost every time I power on the PC. I've read about enabling quick boot mode, but didn't realize it might help. If you need more details, please let me know. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!!
It could be software issues—check the Task Manager for programs and services that launch at startup and disable those with significant boot time effects. Once resolved, re-enable them individually to identify the problematic ones and remove the culprits. Also, examine Device Manager for any devices reporting faults; uninstall and reinstall drivers if necessary.
What I set up at startup were Xbox, Ghub and Realtek audio. Device manager appears fine. I reset my BIOS settings too. I turned off PBO and EXPO, then manually set RAM after the reset. It’s booting normally lately and doesn’t seem affected by PBO/EXPO. Probably just too many BIOS tweaks. If no issues in a week, it was likely a BIOS setting. I didn’t have this issue for the first month after installation, just started about a month ago. It used to happen every few days or even more often. Thanks for the advice! Good luck!
The PSU is rated A on the tier list. I don’t think it’s a problem right now. I haven’t experienced any hiccups since resetting the BIOS. I’ve heard that 3D CPUs don’t like PBO or 3D gaming enabled, and maybe my RAM doesn’t like EXPO. I haven’t had any hiccups in the past couple of days, and gaming performance seems unaffected. So I’ll keep those disabled for now.
