Hey, I see the issue you're facing. When playing League of Legends, the game would freeze occasionally. On Task Manager, CPU usage spikes to 100% while GPU stays at 5%. Your system specs look like: i7-2600, 16GB HyperX DDR3 RAM, ASUS AMD RX 570 with 4GB RAM, and LOL running on an SSD. You've adjusted graphics settings to high before, but the game runs smoother at low CPU settings. It seems the problem varies depending on the game and settings. Could you share more details about the specific game or any other symptoms?

It's quite outdated. You're probably using it near its peak today. Newer processors offer many improvements in both capabilities and speed.

Based on your settings, most of the load falls on the CPU. It seems likely you're using 1080p resolution, which makes sense here. You might want to consider upgrading soon.

LOL demands more from the CPU than the GPU. The 2600 model is quite outdated, while the 570 would work better with a modern i3/R3 or newer. You might need to replace the CPU, which also means updating RAM and the motherboard. For around $400, consider a 12400F with 16GB DDR4 and a B660—this should boost performance noticeably. Also, look into background processes; closing them can help.

Looking for something similar around 1650x1050? I’m prioritizing other tasks over upgrading. My PC is from 2 or 1.5 years ago.

Which motherboard do you own? You might reduce CPU limitations by boosting performance through overclocking, especially with Z68 or Z77 boards using multi-core enhancements.

I believe a PC with those specifications can handle League of Legends. Brief pauses might suggest issues with background applications, such as antivirus software.

That’s a bit unclear about your situation. You mentioned you didn’t build the PC yourself but saw one online and asked someone to make something similar. You purchased around $355 and were looking for an i7 with 16GB RAM and a GPU like the RZ570 580. The person you spoke to only suggested that specific build, and when you got your own PC, you started researching other options. Now you’re considering whether it’s worth investing more money just for gaming. As a 16-year-old, you don’t want to waste more on something you might not need.
