Hey gamers, I’m facing some CPU usage issues and it’s hard to figure out what’s happening. No matter what I do, the Task Manager always shows around 48% usage. I’ve changed my paste from old rubbing alcohol, paper towels, and Qtips to a new one, unplugged everything, and then reconnected it on the cooler. The temperatures are normal except before I took a reading. My specs are: MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi Motherboard i9-10859K @3.60GHz, Kraken x73 360mm Pump, 32GB DDR4, Corsair 3600 MHz, 8GB VRAM, 850W PSU, Samsung SSDs, and a Barracuda 2TB drive. I’m guessing the power supply might be the problem, but I’m not sure. The pump seems to be working well with good temps. It’s been going on for a couple of weeks now. Thermals doesn’t increase your CPU load even when no programs are active. You might notice the system utilizing about 47% of your processor. Look for any background services that could be driving high CPU consumption.
Is there an HDD included in this setup? Every detail counts, not just the parts mentioned.
It's tough to pinpoint exactly what's happening since I captured four screenshots to illustrate the rapid changes. I also included a System screenshot; by right-clicking System > Go To Details, you'll notice it's using all the CPU. (Check the images below.)

Your processor keeps increasing speed (it shows 4.8GHz in CoreTemp), and the temperatures are normal. This isn’t a hardware problem—it’s likely a software issue. Your Windows 10 setup might be corrupted. Reinstalling Windows could resolve the issue. A virus or similar malware could be consuming your CPU resources.
I tried reinstalling Windows not long ago, but it didn’t work properly and I had to run it again. It was about 3-4 months ago, yet I noticed the CPU issue only a few weeks back. I plan to reinstall when the time comes and will let you know. If the problem persists after reinstall, I might need to use a USB of Windows 10 instead.
