My HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF was emitting three beeps alongside my other CPU, so I brought it to a technician who confirmed the CPU had failed. I swapped it out with an i5-2500s temporarily, but now the system boots but shows no video output. After about 30 seconds, the power supply fan spiked intensely, resembling a plane preparing for takeoff, yet still no display appeared. Additionally, when I inserted my Quadro K2200 graphics card, it beeped four times, and HP indicated a PSU overload. Despite months of use, this issue has recently emerged. The PC doesn’t emit a beep without RAM, only when the CPU is absent, and I do have a beeper. I’ve cleaned the RAM, reset the CMOS battery, but I’m unsure what else to do—I’m considering giving up on this machine.

The older HP machines featured a passive-aggressive chassis intrusion system that behaved in unexpected ways. Are all the front panel connectors secured? Also verify if the motherboard is compatible with the second generation Intel. Intel could have updated chipsets without altering the socket, such as the differences between 6th/7th Gen and 8th/9th Gen versions.

It seems the memory exercises aren't holding up. Would you like to try using a single USB stick instead?

All connections are active. I’m uncertain about the motherboard type and compatibility, but since it matches the socket, it should work.
