Hello everyone, yesterday I upgraded my PC and wanted to turn it on to play games, but I saw no display on my monitor. I changed from an R5 2600x to an R7 5800x3D, increased RAM from 1650MB to 3070MB and added 16GB of RAM, while keeping the 650W PSU. All lights and fans are working, so everything seems fine. The R7 5800x3D doesn’t have built-in graphics, which means I can’t test it without a dedicated video card. I’ve already tried several things:
- Swapped in the old CPU, GPU, and RAM to see if it works
- Used different RAM sticks and cleaned the ports
- Installed a new cable and switched to HDMI instead of DisplayPort
- Tested on another monitor (TV)
I reset the CMOS and double-checked all cables. I suspect the issue might be with the connection between the motherboard and GPU, though I can’t confirm. I searched online and on YouTube but didn’t find helpful solutions. I think it would be best to ask someone more experienced for advice. Thanks ahead, and welcome any suggestions!

You didn’t forget to refresh the BIOS before putting in the new CPU, did you?

It’s likely the issue stems from outdated BIOS settings on the motherboard. Even if the CPU fits physically, the system may not recognize it without an updated firmware. After reinstalling the old CPU, double-check all hardware connections and ensure the BIOS is current to resolve the problem.

Old components: r5 2600x new setup r7 5800x3d, graphics card 3070 msi gaming trio, previous build had 1650 kfa2, RAM is Corsair DDR4 Vengeance RGB Pro 2x16GB at 3600 MHz. Previous RAM was 2x8GB, brand of motherboard unknown. B450M S2H and MWE Gold 650W fully modular PSU are not recognized. I suspect the PCIe slot might be faulty, and the current setup isn't connecting the GPU properly.

Your keyboard and mouse aren’t working either. I’m not sure what that means, but it sounds like something is wrong with those devices. You mentioned you didn’t check the hard drive or SSD, so maybe they’re not connected properly or have an issue.

I tried it again using my old CPU, and it functioned properly. However, I received a prompt to reboot and choose the correct boot device. After that, the case fans and CPU fans ceased operating, and now the computer won't power on at all.
