Hello, my CPU (i5-12600kf) is experiencing higher idle temperatures than before and is throttling under load. It isn’t overclocked, it’s using idle settings and XMP. I own a Fractal Lumen S36 AIO, which has always functioned well in the past. Recently, fans have started spinning up even when there’s minimal load, and the thermal readings show mid to high 40s, whereas previously they were in the low to mid 30s. During a stress test, the CPU hits 100°C and the throttling occurs. The cooling tubes feel warm but the radiator stays cool. The pump seems active, showing up in both BIOS and HWMonitor at its normal 4000rpm. I also tried removing it from the motherboard and booting into BIOS, where the temperature was 50°C rising (compared to around 30°C when the pump was connected). This suggests both the pump and the sensors are working properly. Initially, I thought the latest Windows 11 update caused an issue, but after uninstalling it, things stabilized. I recently added ARGB lighting to my case, which is the only hardware change in the last few months, but disconnecting the light strips didn’t affect performance. UPDATE: I updated my BIOS and ran another stress test; temperatures peaked at 86°C and idle temps around 40°C. It’s unclear if this resolves the problem, but I’ll keep you posted. So far it seems to be operating normally. I plan to switch to Coolermasters MasterGel Pro V2 thermal paste and monitor the results. Could be the thermal paste, wrong installation or a failed pump—but I’m not sure it’s completely out of commission.
mx4 is pretty bad for high end systems like ya got, also what case ya got and wheres ur radiator mounted: front, rear or top of the case?

Mx4 works well for top-tier thermal performance. If you need something better than standard coolers, options like gelid GC Extreme, Kingpin KPX, or Kryon are solid choices. Nth1 and Nth2 also offer decent results.
