System needs for child of light technology
System needs for child of light technology
Hello everyone, I'm trying to understand the actual system needs for this game. It seems surprising that an 8800 GT would be enough, especially since someone is running it on a laptop with only 410M graphics—well below that spec. I’m curious why such a demanding game wouldn’t work on integrated graphics, as I’ve seen games like Bastion or Don't Starve that perform better. Art can be great, but this feels like a big gap compared to what’s available.
Refers to simpler frameworks or engines that handle the game's operations. For example, choosing a GPU or CPU like a mobile device versus a high-end workstation.
It seems the 8800GT likely incorporates an updated hardware component that the game utilizes, making it the recommended version—either the newest or the highest revision available.
ah sorry my bad, mostly was just wondering if people can run it alright on integrated etc. cpu shouldn't be an issue with an i5, there's 6gb ram too. and its at 720p. I'm only concerned for the gpu being able to pull it. just doing some mental acrobatics, looking at say gta 4 which can run on 8800gt ok and child of light, which in comparison has very little in what looks gpu intensive.
For Shader Model 4.0, HD 4000 3000 or later is likely sufficient.
It's a platformer, not an FPS, which explains why its FPS rating stays around 20 or 30 for such a game. Some claim it runs smoothly on newer ATOM systems with minor challenges at the start and end of fights. Even a basic i5 processor should outperform an Atos and a GT410M, which should be significantly faster than what's built into the Atom.
I’d go ahead with it. It seems the current minimum is around 8800 GT, which feels pretty standard these days. I haven’t seen any requirement for integrated graphics in a while. I’m guessing it’ll be 720p or less and maybe around 30 fps. Your choice, though. Or aim to be the best gamer ever and get her a gaming laptop! I know this isn’t the best guidance, but it’s what I’d do... I’d definitely buy her a laptop, haha.
