Your setup includes a Ryzen 7 2700 with an 8-core processor, 8GB of Ryzen memory at 3000MHz, an MSI B450 Tomahawk RX 570 graphics card, 4GB RAM, a 120GB SSD, and a 500W power supply from BeQuiet! (System Power U9). The computer tends to freeze, with the mouse, keyboard, and monitor losing signal completely. The case fans continue running. I need to restart via the case button, after which it functions normally except for these rare occurrences. Initially, I suspected a motherboard problem, but switching from an ASRock B450M HDV R4.0 to an MSI B450 Tomahawk didn’t resolve the issue. The positive change is the presence of EZ Debug LEDs on the board.
The CPU LED showed a solid red signal, suggesting it wasn't detected or failed. Does this confirm a faulty CPU? Are there other factors contributing to the problem?
I've tested it with the other motherboard too, and I also performed a complete memtest86 on the RAM.
Is the CPU running at its standard speed? Ensure the motherboard BIOS and B450 chipset drivers are current.
Consider setting up Windows on a hard drive instead of an SSD. I've experienced issues with faulty SSDs causing odd complications before.
I used the Dragon Center feature (Game mode, maximum performance) to achieve a 3.6 GHz OC, but after turning it off I didn’t see any OC with other Asrock boards, so it probably isn’t the reason. It would be very tough for the Asrock board to be damaged and fail because of this issue.
SSD has been causing problems lately. When using Davinci Resolve, it would open fully and stay that way for a while, but the program would crash frequently. After switching to optimized media, lag persisted. Reinstalling Windows in the Pass might point to an issue with the SSD.
