System loading slowly...
Hello, your PC build is listed on the part picker site. The installation time can vary widely depending on hardware and system load. A 5 and a half hours duration isn’t unusual if the drive is slow or other components are under strain. Keep an eye on the loading screen—if it stays active for extended periods, consider checking the optical drive health or restarting the PC.
Completely unusual. It usually requires around 15 minutes for me.
It seems the interface isn't responding as expected. You're seeing only a window with spinning dots, which suggests an issue with the display or connection. Check if your disc is functioning properly and whether the optical drive is working correctly. If the problem persists, the hardware might be faulty.
Adjust your UEFI settings by turning off the Legacy USB feature and disabling the CSM module. Ensure all SATA cables are securely connected and verify the SATA controller operates in AHCI mode. Boot from the disk in EFI mode if available. Disconnect any USB devices except the standard keyboard and mouse. Disable any overclocking settings and confirm X.M.P is set to Profile 1. Remove the case or SD card reader if present. Switch your SSD/HDD SATA cable, or try disabling CPU visualization in UEFI. Inspect RAM for damage, testing one stick at a time following the manual instructions. Transfer the latest BIOS/UEFI file from another system onto a USB flash drive formatted as FAT32, then follow the motherboard manual to install it.
I couldn't locate how to turn off CSM. After completing all other steps and restarting, it still isn't functioning. I plan to use a flash drive and install from Microsoft's site, then boot from it to check if the issue lies with my optical drive.
It seems like a solid strategy. If your optical drive isn't working, check your UEFI settings for an option related to Legacy or UEFI/BIOS. You might need to turn off all legacy features—this won’t necessarily solve the issue but should be enabled since you’re installing a fully UEFI-compatible OS (Windows 8).
It finally functioned! I turned off the old settings, started from the disc, and now I have 8.1 working smoothly. Appreciate the advice!
