Hey! I just completed my first upgrade on my own after my brother did it for me over the past 20 years. Things went pretty well, at least I thought. I upgraded to a new case, motherboard, and CPU (Ryzen 7600x), plus a new SSD. The only thing I transferred from my old setup was a 650W power supply and the GPU (Radeon RX 5600 XT). Everything is running fine most of the time, but this issue has occurred three times now: When playing WoW and streaming on another monitor, the PC freezes, the YouTube audio plays briefly but then stops, and everything restarts normally once I hard reset it. I don’t see any error messages, and my temps are still normal—GPU reaching 55°C max. I’m not sure what’s causing it. Anyone else have a clue? Thanks from a newcomer in Sweden!

Tell me your exact power source and its age. Verify BIOS updates for the motherboard, paying attention to notes about AGESA ComboAM5PI 1.0.0.4 and the dual CCD 7600X CPUs, as those can affect stability.

Absolutely in line with this. Also, does your GPU come built into the motherboard’s PCIe port or do you need a riser cable to connect it?

I have a setup with the "Corsair HX 650W 80+ Bronze Modular" and believe it's around nine years old. It has performed well in my previous PC, and I've kept the original cables intact. Regarding the BIOS, I lost track of the updates. I've been using the "Armoury Crate" program to keep it current since it's an Asus motherboard. Or should I update through the actual BIOS? It connects directly to a PCIe slot.

It's time to consider swapping out the PSUs. Switching to newer equipment while using a 9-year-old power supply is essentially risking damage if the PSU fails, potentially harming other parts. Using the original cables from the power supply is wise since the pin layout between the PSU and cable can differ among brands and models. Using mismatched cables might cause voltage to appear where it shouldn't.

You’ll have to install the BIOS update yourself. Armory Crate won’t handle that for you. But you can easily locate it on the Asus support site without any issues.

I plan to proceed, but first I need some funds. I successfully updated the BIOS, and it appears to be functioning properly so far. Thanks for your incredible assistance! @CommanderAlex @Harmsway1283
