System issues persisting even during BIOS setup. Possible causes and solutions.
I recently upgraded my system to a new case, which meant replacing the motherboard and power supply. I also updated the RAM for some reason. I’ll mention the components later. The issue I’m facing is that the system stutters intermittently, sometimes for several seconds at a time, but other times it’s barely noticeable. This stuttering happens even when I’m in BIOS. It’s worth mentioning that the system stutters less often and less severely once it has booted for a while, although sometimes it starts stuttering intensely when opening applications. I haven’t experienced any BSODs or other performance problems, and temperatures seem normal.
I’ve tried the following to diagnose the problem:
- Tested with old RAM (single stick)
- Tested with both m2 SSDs, installing Windows 10 on each separately and booting
- Returned the previous motherboard (same model, revision 1.2), same issue appears on both boards
- Disabled fTPM because of known stuttering problems with AMD CPUs
Was eine vollständige Betriebssystemerneuerung mit dieser neuen Motherboard durchgeführt?
Yes, reinstalled OS on both SSD's to test them separately. Each time I did that I left the other one out to make sure they were tested independently.
Hi! Thank you for the friendly greeting.
I updated the BIOS to the newest version during setup, which I should have noted earlier in my troubleshooting.
I believe this might have resolved the issue I was facing (though I might have misidentified it).
Here’s a link to a potential fix that seems to work: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/k3...or_usb_20/
