My most recent installation is causing some issues, possibly due to the brand new motherboard or simply because I’m using AMD this time.
It frequently crashes during certain games (such as BF2042 and Anno 1800 with Direct X 12), but generally runs smoothly otherwise.
Occasionally it also crashes when idle or while browsing YouTube or surfing Facebook.
- The display goes black and the fans speed up completely. I experienced overheating problems with my previous cooler, but after replacing it, temperatures stayed within normal ranges.
- CPU temperatures seldom exceed 70°C, and the GPU performance is also stable.
My system setup:
Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO (updated with the latest non-beta BIOS)
Chipset: AMD® B550 Chipset (latest drivers installed)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics, 3801 MHz, 8 cores, 16 threads
CPU cooling: Air, be quiet! Dark Rock 4
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (latest drivers available)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4-3600 - 32GB - CL18 - Dual Channel (2 sticks) - Intel XMP
Storage: Kingston NV2 PCI-E 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD, 1TB
I also have an older Seagate HDD and a newer one.
Power Supply: eVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 - internal connection, 80 PLUS Gold, AC 100-240 V, 850W – this unit was purchased new in 2016 (includes a 10-year warranty)
Case: HYTE Y60 Midi-Tower with 9 120mm fans
Screen: Optix MAG322CQRV - MSI
Operating System: Windows 11 Pro (clean install performed during hardware upgrade)

I came across numerous texts offering various solutions I might consider. I suspect I won’t discover further answers here than what I already found.

The unit is from 2014. Is this the model that was released then? Did you reinstall the operating system after replacing the motherboard? You've mentioned crashing several times in your post—are you talking about the system restarting...? You didn't specify the case's make and model.
