You built your first PC and set up Windows, but after installation it freezes during restart. You can move the mouse and enter BIOS, but the process stops. The issue might be related to a corrupted installation or a problem with the boot sequence.

The specifications are crucial for guiding the approach to resolving the issue. They clarify hardware requirements, cable types, and system configurations needed for troubleshooting. Using these details ensures the solution aligns precisely with what’s available and expected.

It might mean something isn't being detected. You see loading indicators and your PC is communicating, (displaying motherboard splash)? Or you receive a message without any loading dots? The former could come from hardware interfering with startup or being turned off. Perhaps switch to a different keyboard if you have one, or as you reflect, try all common fixes.

Also, you can verify by going into BIOS and confirming the boot drive is set for Windows startup. (This might seem a bit confusing.)

I started searching online out of curiosity, and I'm finding a lot of "dead motherboard" articles. It seems like you might have been unlucky, so maybe consider returning it or getting a second opinion in person. It could be a significant oversight.
