For a while now I've owned an older laptop that still performs well (from 2012) with a core i5-3320M, which claims to boost up to 3.3GHz but actually reaches only 3.1GHz and even under heavy load it caps at 3.1GHz (the precise figure is 3093.3GHz). Anyone know if it's feasible to extract more performance from your CPU or is this mainly due to its age? The 3.3 increase is a single-core enhancement and is uncommon to observe. You'll likely notice this performance boost when you enable one core and disable all others, which appears typical.

It might be feasible to have both cores operate at 3.3GHz together, depending on the system design and power constraints.
