Task manager statistics tend to be quite basic. Varying factors like core count, active tasks, measurement timing, and CPU speed can affect the precision, often resulting in a small counting unit (like 1.7% in the screenshot, which may shift over time). I checked Task Manager and found percentages in multiples of 1.5%, then 1.3%, and finally 1.4% as active processes changed.
There might be some rounding involved. My 5900X usually shows increments around 0.6% or nearly there for its reporting. It’s not surprising that my CPU has three times more threads, and the increment used is about one-third of that. I’m sure someone could explain it in detail, but if the details are low-level enough, the usage is likely shown in small binary chunks, which the UI then converts to a decimal percentage.
