It doesn't matter. This hasn't been a problem for the last five years...

Consider trying it off or running a Memtest86. I've received that response many times before—"we always did it this way." I'm a service technician for machines. I used to think it was a poor choice. Could you confirm your specs? Are your BIOS, drivers, and Windows up to date? Edited September 2, 2023 by leclod

Thanks, it looks like you have a solid PSU. It probably isn't the unit's issue. Have you double-checked all connectors, reinserted the GPU and RAM? Make sure your system is current—update BIOS, drivers, and Windows. You might also consider a fresh installation of Windows. Edited September 2, 2023 by leclod

The reason I am thinking PSU is it was already second hand when I got it. And that was 7 years ago. If it was software, I would see something somewhere. but its not even a blue screen, it's like it's a thermal shutdown or PSU overload.

I've experienced frequent black screens. I've conducted numerous tryouts on my new setup. I think the issue stems from insufficient RAM speed, as tight timings likely caused performance drops rather than crashes. It probably was the memory issue. Updated September 2, 2023 by leclod

I've tested both Furmark and Prime 95, nothing wrong. It works consistently. The system can stay idle and power down or run under heavy load. Either way it functions properly.

Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of your computer components. I noticed some temporary issues that aren’t functioning properly—possibly related to an older or unsuitable power supply unit with a NVIDIA 3000 series GPU.

I confirmed the specs. 8700k EVGA 1070 Hybrid Corsair ax 760i PSU LPX ddr4 16gb Tomahawk board. Multiple HDDs, one SSD and an NVME drive. Components remain the same for years. No problems ever.

The PSU has been running for approximately three years. Roughly 3 hours of power-on time per day. Yes, I can assume that setup: 3 HDDs plus 1 SATA SSD and 1 NVMe SSD.
