The laptop is running slowly even when no apps are running. It doesn’t overheat, but it slows down in games or creative programs. The CPU speed is only 800MHz, which isn’t ideal. I’ve updated the BIOS and drivers for both Intel and NVIDIA GPUs, and there are no viruses detected. Important: When plugged in, it works perfectly, but the issue appears when it’s disconnected like in the screenshots.

@khalid21 The ThrottleStop Limit indicates a BD PROCHOT issue, possibly due to a faulty sensor in the power adapter. Ensure the BD PROCHOT compartment is cleared on the main ThrottleStop display. Verify the Speed Shift settings within the TPL window—new laptops often auto-activate them during BIOS setup. Why are you pairing Asus Armory Crate with an HP laptop?

Steer clear of Armory Crate with an Asus device, and even more so with an HP model.

However, as you can observe at the top left, even in ThrottleStop the CPU speed has risen during benchmarking. The PC still displays low performance.

It was an error—it looked like me, but it was my mistake. I should have known it wasn’t me.

Additionally, the power usage issue needs attention—check the wattage consumed.

Launch the Task Manager, navigate to the Details section and check what processes are active on your system. A background task may be consuming resources, keeping your PC busy. It appears to be utilizing all one core, resulting in suboptimal benchmark results. This explains the high power usage and elevated idle temperatures. Your machine shows minimal background activity, which is normal when idle. The Nvidia Overlay might be contributing to increased CPU load. Consider testing it to see if it improves performance.

I tried and nothing altered. I observed something when I turned off GPU via Device Manager and then reactivated it; the system functioned perfectly with normal CPU speed and GPU clock. However, after unplugging and replugging the PC, performance dropped back to low levels and power usage increased again.

I discovered the fix for everyone: the issue came from the AC adapter, so I replaced it with a new one that has 150W and 7A, and everything is working perfectly now. Thanks to all of you for your help.
