Hi, I see you're facing some challenges with your new computer setup. It sounds like the system is experiencing instability when handling large files or under certain conditions. You mentioned issues with crashes or automatic restarts, especially after removing RAM or storage drives. The motherboard might be a factor, as you noted it works fine when slots are empty. You also considered the power supply unit, but haven't ruled it out yet. The RAM upgrades didn't resolve the problem either. Have you checked the BIOS settings or firmware updates? Also, ensure all connections are secure and try a different RAM stick to see if the issue persists. Let me know what you find!

No, a 500 watt is not sufficient for most applications.

Other than the memory and power supply, the issue likely lies with the motherboard.

I might consider updating your BIOS right now, but if that fails it’s likely the motherboard. You’ve managed to narrow things down quite well. Given the Quadro 4000 RTX’s maximum power consumption is 170, it should be sufficient.

It seems your device is experiencing random crashes or restarts while performing basic tasks. Likely, increasing its power supply unit (PSU) by a small amount could resolve the issue. For many computers, having slightly more power than needed is preferable to having too little and causing instability.
