A new PC was purchased on March 28th this year. The attached minidumps from the BSOD show no page errors and confirm a successful boot. Please review these files for details and guidance on resolving any issues. Specs included: Windows 11 Home, 2x G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB, 16 GB DDR5 RAM, Gigabyte X870 motherboard, WD Black SSDs, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, Arctic Liquid Freezer III GPU, and a Lian Li Power Supply.
Windows discourages changes to files in C:\Windows due to strict protections. It prevents copying or relocating files from that area, meaning uploaded items are shortcut links rather than full files. You should transfer entire folders instead of just files. Most zipping involves bundling multiple files together for convenience. Check the C:\Windows\Minidump folder for existing minidump files. If found, move the Minidump folder to the Downloads directory (or use your desktop if OneDrive isn't available). Compress the copied folder and attach it to a post. Follow instructions carefully—Windows doesn’t allow modifications in this location.
You experienced two similar crashes, though one involved an unusual event I’ll discuss later. Windows attempted to terminate a process, but something failed, leading to the crash. It might stem from corrupted files or memory problems, though the limited dump data makes it hard to pinpoint. The most puzzling crash was triggered by the AMD GPU driver sending an unknown command, prompting a BSOD. This could indicate a faulty driver or memory issues. What’s strange is the uncertainty about whether the dump file itself was damaged or if deeper problems exist. I’m unsure what exactly happened, as this hasn’t occurred before. If the dump file became corrupted, it might be worth checking the storage and updating firmware—WD has reported issues with newer Windows 11 drives (though yours isn’t affected). Updating is simple and could resolve the problem.
I ran a memtest86 and got no errors detected. I plan to reset the computer to check if BSODs and freezes persist. I’ll also reinsert the SSD, assuming Windows is corrupted as well. The amd minidump was taken when I updated my GPU drivers to the new beta one, which resolved a microstutter issue I faced then. Thanks for your assistance so far.
