System has trouble starting, storage device missing, crashes repeatedly
Hi there, I've been having issues with my PC lately. It started when the HDD wasn't listed in the Windows File Manager, even though it wasn't my main drive. I thought it might show up, so I opened some tabs in Chrome and then the computer froze. After a few minutes it crashed, showing a BSOD with a critical process error. Since then it's been having trouble restarting—sometimes it boots to Windows but freezes shortly after. Lights turn on but nothing displays or connects to peripherals. I've tried turning it off and back on, sometimes after a few attempts. My specs are: Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7 4790 (3.60GHz), 8GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, MSI ZH87-G43 motherboard, and a Corsair gs800 SSD. I'm at around 33°C with the PSU. Any advice would be really helpful.
Power supply wasn't mentioned, maybe that's the issue...Components aren't receiving power and are shutting down. High RAM speed of 666MHz seems to be the problem.
This morning I noticed the HDD was back to normal, though it kept freezing. I ran MemTest86+ and saw around 1000 errors; could it be the RAM causing the issue?
Upgrade your RAM. And follow my previous instructions. Then verify the RAM once more.
