System has power yet fails to boot.
I constructed a PC some time ago and everything proceeded smoothly until suddenly it stopped working. After several tests, it was revealed to be a faulty MOBO (ASUS Maximius VIII Hero). Not being covered by warranty, I opted for a used model. I ended up buying an ASUS Maximus VIII Formula from eBay, which came from the IT technician at a hospital. He sold it because he upgraded to a Ryzen system. Despite my attempts, I sought his advice on fixing the issues, but we couldn't resolve them. I rebuilt the PC twice, replaced the CPU and RAM, but the motherboard and graphics card were receiving power yet the startup button remained unresponsive. I'm feeling quite frustrated and need help now. Here are the specifications: CPU - i7 6700k, GPU - ASUS ROG 1070ti, RAM - 8GB + 4GB x2 in DDR4 2133, PSU - Thermaltake 600w, HDD - 2TB WD Black.
Do you recall the purchase date of this board? It claims compatibility with 6th Gen Intel chips, but the BIOS could be outdated. I’m unsure if your device includes a function to update the BIOS without RAM or an installed CPU. If available, updating the BIOS would be ideal; otherwise, you’ll likely need to replace the CPU and flash it directly.
