System hangs at 2.6GHz despite higher potential performance
Recently reinstalled Windows and updated the BIOS. Played a game I had no issues with before, but now experience stutters during fights, lower FPS, and power management remains unchanged from my old setup. CPU cooling was switched to watercooling, which should provide extra voltage, but something seems off. I’ll attach pictures below.
Additionally, I've already attempted to play the game and checked the task manager on a secondary monitor, but it doesn't go beyond version 2.6.
Check the CPU in the boost area at the top left; it should turn red when you do. Try it out!
A PC uses only the power it needs. Limiting turbo to 4095W won’t cause issues. Avoid going over 4096W. The power register can store up to 4095.875W. Some boards have problems; setting it to 4096W may reset limits to zero. It looks like Intel Turbo Boost isn’t active. Your CPU is running at its base speed of 2.6 GHz. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...0-ghz.html Are you using the latest BIOS? Are there any MSI control tools running? Uninstall them and restart. If you still can’t reach full speed, try ThrottleStop. On the main screen, locate the “Disable Turbo” option and confirm it’s off. Share some ThrottleStop screenshots showing the FIVR and TPL windows to explain why your CPU is throttling. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/tec...ottlestop/
