Additionally, I removed the undervolting software to ensure my PC runs smoothly, but last week my monitor would freeze and cause the system to crash. This has occurred before I began experimenting with undervolting. Also, during a recent crash while playing Marvel Rivals, the game displayed a warning when I attempted to restart it. I’m unsure whether to rely on a game to identify issues on my machine.
The goal was to keep running the benchmark until it finished or stopped. Keep an eye on temperatures—make sure the GPU and CPU stay cool. Expect spikes from 80°C to 90°C; it’s manageable as long as it doesn’t crash. If it does, check the Windows logs for details. After that, try DDU in safe mode from guru 3D. Follow the on-site instructions if you need help. If you’re unsure about drivers, look at gaming forums for similar titles and see what others use. Nvidia drivers have been problematic lately, so it’s best to wait and see how things progress.
I just completed the benchmark for an hour and forty minutes. It included one hour on the GL MSI-01 and thirty minutes on the GL MSI-02 (PhysX4 CPU - medium++). The system ran smoothly without any crashes. The MSI-01 stats were 72°C, 55 minutes, 182,953 frames, speed around 60 FPS, 17.55 ms, GPU at 100% and power between 100-101%. On the other hand, the MSI-02 recorded 73–74°C, 30 minutes, 12,22,453 frames, 700fps, 39 sps, 1.83ms, GPU at full capacity and power 100–104%. I was expecting the PC to shut down during the second run but didn’t see it happen. I’m not sure if the GPU is still functioning or if the CPU is the issue. I recorded everything but don’t think uploading the full hour and forty minutes would be possible.
Benchmarks finished without crashes. That suggests both your GPU and CPU are functioning properly. It looks like the right driver for your games was found. Unfortunately, I can't go further. I'm stuck until you play a game. I think it's a software problem.
Initially I assumed the problem was similar, so I cleaned the PC and reset it, but after a few months it began shutting down again. Now I’m still checking online for updates, though it’s still active. I’m hesitant about updating the BIOS because I’ve never done it before and worry about the risks. Should I proceed just to verify one more point from my list?
Check MSI MPG Z490 GAMING Edge Wifi ATX reviews online. Look for download guides and YouTube tutorials—it makes sense. Keep up with the newest version by following the instructions carefully. In my area, we often face brownouts and power cuts, so I’ve added a small UPS to protect myself. Just ensure no one tries to shut the power when you’re using it.
I'll attempt it again today and operate the PC as usual, keeping an eye on this page for updates.
Following the BIOS update I used it until today without any crashes or blackouts, but now it happened again. I recorded my screen just in case something occurred, though I never experienced a full black screen. I shared the video link on Google Drive and a screenshot from my phone showing Steam activity shortly after the video ended, indicating the system was still active. In the minute around 1:45, you can see the cursor disappear, which means the audio stopped and the cursor couldn’t move—this is where the Steam friend list appears. The Drive link I provided has a size limit, so I didn’t upload the video directly.
I think I’ve located the problem. It doesn’t look like my system is having a fault but Steam Overlay is experiencing issues with the latest drivers. About 80% of the time it occurred when opening or closing the overlay. I’m checking online for similar reports and the first one I found was on May 22nd, where someone with the same problem shared their experience. The main difference was that they encountered it in CSGO and other games, not on the ones I mentioned. I turned off the SO until a new update is released to see if crashes return.
