System halts unexpectedly and reboots during gameplay
Wow, it seems the power supply might be the issue. The Elementum E2 isn't a great PSU and falls under the AVOID category. It looks suspicious at best, especially with the kernel crashes happening more often. I'm sure it's not me, but this strongly points to a faulty PSU.
I considered opting for a GIGABYTE UD850GM or P1000GM power supply, but if you have an even better one, let me know—I can still use the PC, though it won’t run games well just for watching videos until I upgrade the PSU. Thanks for your help. It seems like the PSU might be the issue, as I could even detect the problem.
If you could detect the issue, it would be best to avoid using the PC in any case, as failure could harm your components. I personally favor the RM750x and RM850x models from Corsair, offering excellent build quality and a 10-year warranty. When replacing the power supply, never reuse cables from your previous PSU with the new one; all cables must be swapped out.
Corsair RM850e would work, but you might want to consider a more affordable PSU option since the 160 euro price is quite steep.
The RM850e works well as a power supply unit. A 850-watt rating might seem too much, but it’s still sufficient for your setup. Going lower like 650 watts could work, though it leaves less space for future upgrades. An 850-watt or 750-watt model with a 7-year warranty will last you a long time. The RM850e is a good choice.
