System halts during the loading of Battlefield 2042.
Hello, I see your PC is experiencing some issues. When you start the multiplayer map in Battlefield 2042, it shuts down completely, only the RAM light stays on, and I can't power it back up until the PSU switch is set to 0 then back to 1. I recently updated the BIOS on my ASUS Crosshair X670E Hero, changed all settings to default, reinstalled Windows, updated chipset and Adrenalin drivers, checked every cable, turned off unused programs, but the problem persists. My system has a Ryzen 9 7950X, ASUS Crosshair X670E Hero, 32GB RAM, Sapphire RX 7900X, and an ASUS Strix 1000W Gold PSU. Appreciate your help.
Have you removed the PSU? The process of switching it on and off suggests it's likely an OCP or thermal protection is activating.
Recent ASUS BIOS versions appear problematic and unreliable. I encountered issues with settings that functioned fine in the pre-9000 model from April 24. Consider using the April BIOS instead, or turn off XMP and any undervolt settings.
It was encountering issues with older BIOS versions and all stock configurations in the BIOS.
It seems the other components might be the problem. Do you have a backup power supply to try, or could you ask someone to bring one?
I explored all available options from the case and searched for similar or simpler issues, but found nothing. I visited a local big-box PC store where they had a Sama 1000W PSU for 130€, but I’m hesitant about buying a random Chinese brand. Asking friends is possible, but it’s often difficult to retrieve a PSU and deal with the situation.
I plan to purchase this Sama 1000w gold PSU. The store mentioned I could return it if I didn’t want it. I’ll connect only 24pin, 8pin EPS and GPU later, then test it. It seems odd that a PSU from about one and a half years ago is having issues. I’ll clean the PC regularly and have a filter in the case where the PSU is placed, and the PC on the desk.
If it's the PSU, ASUS probably will swap it out for you. Are the @Asus_NAsupport members still active on the forum?
