System halts at resolution 7800x3D
System halts at resolution 7800x3D
Here are the revised points:
The freeze occurs during specific phases. First, begin any film on Amazon Prime or Netflix. After a while, it continues to load slowly. I verified the internet isn’t the cause. Next, refresh the page; sometimes it works after a short pause, but then the same problem returns. If that doesn’t happen, the system simply stops responding. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del after a delay will open the restart menu, which takes a long time to complete.
Note: In this case, when I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del, the Task Manager showed low CPU (5%), RAM usage around 13%, and GPU at 2%. After restarting, I repeated step one and the issue resurfaced.
GAMING FREEZE SCENARIO 2:
1) Launch a moderate CPU-heavy program.
2) Open a demanding game—such as Witcher 3, Cyberpunk (latest update), or Rise of Tomb Raider.
3) The game launches normally, then I adjust video settings in the options.
4) The system freezes, but background audio remains audible.
5) On the second slot, RAM color changes to red; the fourth slot stays normal.
6) I removed the RAM with red color and moved it elsewhere.
7) Restarted with a different RAM module, but the problem persisted.
8) If no CPU-heavy app runs in the background, the games function properly.
9) When I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del, Task Manager displayed low CPU (34%), high RAM (60%), and high GPU usage (98%).
What I’ve tried so far:
1. Updated to the latest BIOS.
2. Reinstalled Windows version 10.
3. Restored NVIDIA drivers and AMD Radeon drivers.
4. Cleaned RAM contacts.
5. Swapped RAM modules—still no improvement.
6. Verified no damage to motherboard or CPU.
7. Everything appears to be in its default state.
8. No overclocking or voltage adjustments.
What I’ve done recently:
- Installed new BIOS.
- Reinstalled Windows 10.
- Restored drivers for NVIDIA and AMD.
- Cleaned RAM pins.
- Replaced CPU and plugged it back in.
- Still no resolution.
Please assist me.
I think there might be an issue with the RAM or a manufacturing defect. My son experienced problems like a garbled screen while watching videos, which resolved when switching to a different Crucial kit. He was using an AM4 socket, but I wasn't sure if he used just one stick. Could you check that?
