My system does this weird shut down where the monitors turn off as well the keyboard and mouse doesn't wake it. When it does this the fans and RGB in the case continue to run. The power button has absolutely no effect. I have to power down the PSU to reset it. Among the weirdness is that this will happen whenever I am not gaming, for example just browsing the Internet or using office 365. No issues while gaming. A bit of history on this system. I built it about 7 years ago. Gigabyte aorus ax370 gaming k7 Ryzen 1700x G. Skill flare ddr4 ram 128g Gtx 1070ti plus gtx 1050ti Windows 7 then updated to 10 Plus a number of drives. This summer I wanted to upgrade to windows 11 so I needed to update the CPU and the BIOS. I started by trying to update the BIOS but ended up bricking it. I took it to local shop and they were able to fix the BIOS to the then most recent version so that I could upgrade the CPU. Changed the CPU to a ryzen 5900x and while I was at it, I changed the ram to g. Skill razer for more speed. I then changed out the video cards to a rtx 3060. The system ran stable for a few weeks and then it started doing the weird partial shut down. I have since tried returning the original ram and video card, same problem. I've updated all drivers and to the newest BIOS. I can't swap out the CPU with the old one because the mobo won't recognize it. (Something about it's TPM.) The local folks have never heard of such a problem. My thoughts are the Mobo is finally on its way out or there is an issue with the CPU. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Question it but the CPU can be checked on another machine if you wish to verify. Those outdated motherboards had to stop supporting older CPUs after upgrades because of limited BIOS storage. This arrangement is unusual. What’s the point of needing the 1050ti? Unless you ran out of connections on the 1070ti, you could just swap it out. I think the power switch functions correctly when starting up, so it likely isn’t faulty. Do you have a different PSU available for testing? Yes, the board might be involved, but an old PSU could also start showing similar problems. Have you installed Windows 11 yet? I suggest clearing the boot disk and installing a clean Windows 11. When changing significant hardware, remnants of previous drivers can lead to strange complications. The failure to shut down may be one of those causes. Hope this assists
