System halted during startup while sleeping.
Regarding the name, my computer failed to start overnight. All components had been running for some time, the main change being the motherboard replacement yesterday because it was faulty. After reinstalling Windows and setting it up, I used it briefly before going to sleep. Now I wake up, power it on, and reach the login screen—suddenly the machine powers down. Initially assuming it went to sleep after a short idle period (even though auto-sleep was disabled), it didn’t respond to any input. I repeated pressing the power button, disconnected the PSU, turned it off and back on, cleared CMOS, but nothing worked. A beeper connected to the motherboard also remained silent. After leaving it idle for about 15 minutes, another attempt to press power led to a brief boot before shutting down again. Jumping the board produced the same result; the PC refused to turn on. Despite this, the motherboard LEDs stayed lit as if no issue existed. While I left the machine alone, testing showed the PSU was functioning normally. To further investigate, I disassembled the PC, starting with the PSU connected only to the board and found it wouldn’t power on at all (excluding RGB). Eventually, powering the CPU directly caused it to briefly activate before shutting off again, suggesting a possible fault in the PSU or its connection. I have another PSU available for testing, but it will take several hours. In the meantime, anyone have suggestions? Thanks ahead—PC specs are: CPU 12700KF (with thermal right), GPU 4090 Mobo, ROG Strix z690-a d4, 2x16GB RAM, 3600MHz, CL16, PSU Corsair HX1000 (alternative HX850 works).**
Initially it seems the PSU isn't the issue since the alternative worked without any problems. Likely the problem lies with the motherboard, even though it functioned properly the previous day.
