I faced a storage issue on my Ubuntu system, updating partitions left with only about 1GB remaining on a bootable USB. The machine won't start and shows an error on the black screen. There are files and blocks listed, but it's not booting properly. Someone might know how to resolve this so I can still use the computer.
Set up a live USB for another machine! Keep running it until you find the right configuration. Transfer files afterward to an external SSD or HDD. Consider adding more storage and keeping your system under 70% capacity. You can also install another SSD or HDD with Ubuntu and let this one act as a backup if needed. Make sure the next drive in line boots first! This process worked with Ubuntu 64-bit and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit too—I always have a live Ubuntu USB handy.
