I wouldn't do that. The Ryzen power plan ensures a low threshold of 99% to turn off the Windows down clock feature. These CPUs have their own internal down clock system, which reacts faster than the Windows version. You can observe the CPU lowering its clock speeds by using Ryzen Master to monitor idle frequencies.

In fact, based on what I know, you’d have to verify it thoroughly—there’s a clear preference for “windows balanced.” This is supported by the fact that my most recent chipset drivers stopped including any “ryzen” power plans. After installing them manually, I experienced significantly better performance across Windows, benchmarks, and games. To achieve this, you should be using Windows 1909 along with the latest BIOS/chipset drivers.

I'm interested in understanding the settings for the Ryzen 3000 lineup. Also, could you share your current idle voltage? Note that the numbers might vary between models—especially between the 2000 and 3000 series. Idle voltages are an important detail to have.

Adjust the plan to require at least 85% processor usage and full capacity. This approach will help stabilize performance while we resolve the issue. Your scores should remain stable with normal variation. This setting keeps boost active, maintains core sleep features, and allows idle downclocking without affecting performance.

The data you collected might not match the 3000 series anymore. 0.8 with a slight variation could be acceptable.

I'm sorry, but that's not accurate. Two days ago I upgraded the chipset on my Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming mainboard using the newest drivers from AMD's website. While installing, a window mentioned setting up the Ryzen power plan. Did you get your chipset drivers from the manufacturer? They tend to be outdated. The online details can be confusing and sometimes conflicting. The most recent official update from AMD goes back to 2017. However, according to several discussions in forums—especially Reddit—the current advice seems to be: for Ryzen first and second generation models, you can safely use the Windows balanced power plan without losing performance. For Ryzen 3, though, the AMD balanced power plan is still advised. At least that's what I found. I'll email AMD's tech support for more direct clarification.
