I've used my built for about two and a half years. The only repair needed was swapping out a failing R7 3700X for an upgraded R9 3900X. Everything else ran smoothly. Recently, my CPU overheated and now the system freezes under load, stopping any signals or power. I initially thought it might be related to the new Sons of The Forest update, but then it started happening in Roblox, which is concerning. I looked up possible causes and found it could be dust buildup in the AIO pump or a clogged filter. I also changed my BIOS settings to match Windows XP, which seems to have triggered further issues. Any advice would be appreciated. My components include: ROG Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) 2x8GB g.skill, 3600mhz RAM, ROG Strix RTX 2070, Super Ryzen 9 3900X, ROG RYOU 240 AIO, and an 800W Power Supply.

My complete system setup includes a Ryzen 9 3900X, ROG AMD X570 ATX (Wi-Fi), G.Skill 2x8GB DDR4-3600 at 1800MHz, ROG STRIX RTX 2070 SUPER, and a Samsung SSD 970 Evo 500GB boot drive (stable, no errors). I also have two Samsung SSD 870 Evo 1TB drives (healthy, error-free). The GPU is a ROG THOR 800W, paired with an NZXT H510. I was running Windows 11 version 21H2 when the problem started, and upgrading to 22H2 didn’t resolve it. My idle temperatures sit at 37°C on the GPU, 38°C on the motherboard, and 46°C on the CPU. Under load, the GPU reaches 84°C with a hotspot of 102°C; the motherboard stays around 41°C, and the CPU around 63°C. I haven’t installed the newest BIOS (released a month ago) because installation issues arose. My AMD chipset drivers are current. All storage units appear functional, but I’m uncertain whether new firmware is necessary. My RAM has XMP enabled during the problematic period. The memory failed testing with MemTest86—my monitor stopped responding halfway through. I don’t own a 3DMark test and prefer avoiding that purchase. Cinebench R23 is close to the benchmark, lagging slightly in both multi-core and single-core tests. I believe the recent Windows update addressed MPO. I’m aware of the RAM issue; it was off during the failures. VBIOS/firmware updates aren’t required at the moment. I haven’t used a 3DMark test and would rather skip it. The installation of the YouTube to MP4 converter recommended on Reddit for Discord profile images didn’t go well. After saving and trying to exit Sons of The Forest, it triggered an error claiming CPU overheating—a first for me. Since then, the PC freezes, cuts power to USB ports, halts frame updates, yet retains signal (screen should have gone dark). **Additionally, the Event Viewer logged this behavior from when it began.** Missing system files suggest Windows rejected an XP bootscreen modification, and improper shutdowns stemmed from the power button failing after repeated freezes, forcing me to switch the PSU.

I'm checking if a new AIO can improve things since my idle temps have jumped significantly. Used to stay around 40°C, now it's 65-68°C. Probably not worth it anymore.

After numerous problems, the new cooler arrived but didn't help much. My idle temps stayed near 60°C.

ROG AMD X570 ATX (Wi-Fi) can refer to several different motherboard models. Determine the exact version by using CPU-Z and reviewing the Motherboard section. Share a screenshot if needed. For storage devices, verify firmware updates via Samsung Magician. 3DMark offers a free trial. Avoid installing Alienware Command Center if it's causing issues. Run the sfc /scannow utility to check your system files.
