System goes black immediately after installing a new GPU.
I recently purchased an RTX 360 for my Gigabyte B660M motherboard with an Intel i5-12600K, but it didn’t display anything from the GPU. It was still showing output from the integrated graphics. I disabled the IGPU in the BIOS and then encountered a black screen, making it impossible to see anything on the screen. Need assistance?
Did you connect the HDMI/DP cable to the GPU? If so, you likely ran a basic VGA driver. Your GPU requires a driver—such as GeForce Experience. First, download DDU to remove your old graphics driver (you probably used a GPU before your 3060). Here’s a video from JayzTwoCents showing how to do it. Then, get the drivers for your GPU.
Two choices available; both require BIOS access. Restart your PC and press delete/F11/F12/backspace or whatever method the guide suggests. Then you can either reboot in safe mode to restore the built-in GPU, or adjust your display settings to use the integrated one. After that, confirm your GPU drivers are up-to-date and installed, then verify the display works before restarting again.
I connected the GPU to the motherboard and started seeing outputs, but then I moved it to the GPU itself and began getting output again. However, after some changes—like resetting it, removing a RAM stick, and taking out the GPU—I lost the output. Now that the display is back, what should I do next regarding the GPU?
Ensure the GPU is connected, then download and install the latest driver tool from NVIDIA. Once installed, power off the computer, reinstall the removed RAM, and connect your display to the 3060. It should function properly; if not, try connecting it directly to the IGPU and verify visibility on your system.
