System freezing upon adjusting RAM speed to 3600MHZ
I own a Corsair Vengeance RGB 3600MHZ RAM, Ryzen 2700x, Zotac 2070 Super Mini, Gigabyte x570 Gaming X Mobo, Corsair RM850 W PSU, and Cooler Master Ml240 Liquid Cooler. When I configure the RAM to 3600MHZ and play a game, it crashes consistently, whereas at 3200MHZ there are no crashes. No components are overclocked.
Only a handful of chips handle 3600MHz memory, typically ranging from 3200 to 3466MHz at most.
Determine the maximum performance of your CPU. Ensure it supports up to 3466MHZ. Verify and adjust as needed.
The CPU memory controller only ensures 2933mhz. I have a R7 1700 which runs steady at 3600mhz, but I had to adjust everything manually and a lot of trial and error (R7 1700 CPU memory controller only reliably hits 2666mhz). My other R7 1700 follows the same pattern—manual tuning is necessary. The link in my signature also shows this as a solid sample CPU that handles overclocking well, often reaching 3200mhz with XMP enabled on Ryzen.
