System freezing or hanging in a threadripper setup
It might suggest the PSU is nearing a breakdown. The parts inside could still function if left alone, but any attempt to use it will likely cause overheating, capacitor problems, or reduced power output.
I kept a close eye on the CPU temperatures right from the start. The idle and load readings were quite stable, hovering near 26°C and 58°C respectively. As expected, the parts didn’t need constant attention since the device began showing issues.
I installed the PSU and everything worked better than before. After reassembling, it booted up and ran for a short time. Then it froze again, repeating the same issues. There are still two problems: the motherboard seems to be causing shorts on the case, and the PC keeps freezing or hanging. I’m considering updating the BIOS, but it’s risky given how unstable the system is right now.
