System freezes with black screen, fans increase intensity, and BSOD appears.
I've experienced several problems over the past couple of months while playing a game. My computer frequently crashes to a black screen with increased fan noise and then shuts down completely. I can't power it off by pressing the power button; instead, I must turn off the power supply unit. This issue started even when the system was idle or handling light tasks, and it also occurred during BSOD events that hadn't happened before. Today I attempted to resolve it. I reset Windows and kept my files, but nothing helped. Running DDU in safe mode made things worse. I can no longer update graphics drivers, and the Windows update isn't installing the latest version. I tried using chkdsk and sfc, but they caused crashes again. Checked the events manager, but it only showed crash errors without any other logs. I reduced my memory from 3000MHz to 2800MHz (though it's actually 3200MHz RAM, it doesn't run stably at that speed). I'm unsure what to do next. It seems like the GPU might be failing, but I'm trying everything possible to fix it. You can find my dump files here: https://files.catbox.moe/p0edhw.zip
Details about hardware: B450m ds3h Nvidia 1660ti (MSI Ventus), Ryzen 5 2600 with stock cooler, 450W PSU (Corsair, bronze rated, unclear model), Vengeance RAM (2x8GB, 3200MHz but running at 3000MHz before today).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
It's just been a day and so far there have been no crashes! Everything looks fine! Thank you for your message.
The system froze into a black screen during high-performance gaming with maximum fan speeds, then rebooted on its own. It typically restarts without issues, so lowering the memory speed to 2800 might help assess stability. This could indicate a failing GPU or power supply unit.
