I'm dealing with a persistent issue where my PC randomly shuts down every few days while gaming. After replacing the GPU and re-seating it, the system would restart normally. However, once it crashes, the speaker emits a beep indicating no video card detected. I've run diagnostics like Memtest5 and Extreme@anta777, which revealed RAM errors, but cleaning and reinstalling RAM didn't resolve the problem. Recently, I tested the GPU with OCCT and found VRAM issues, but cleaning the pins and reinserting it also didn't fix it. The crashes seem to happen intermittently, sometimes lasting 3-5 days before a meltdown. My motherboard specs are listed, and I'm unsure if the GPU or RAM is the root cause. What should I do next?

I recently upgraded my PC in June 2024 and noticed the same issue on my older machine. I'm very likely dealing with a faulty power supply unit. Your system specs are as follows: motherboard MB: ASUS Prime B550-PLUS, CPU AMD Ryzen 5600X, GPU XFX Speedster SWFT319, Radeon RX 6800, RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB), DDR4 3200MHz, 16GB MEM, 1TB WD_BLACK SN850X (2 units), Windows 11 Home 64-bit 23H2.

I had some concerns about the PSU mainly because it was quite old (purchased in 2018). I’m not sure enough about how PSUs degrade over time, even though it’s been running smoothly for a year now. Thanks for the response—I’ll consider adding it to my list of possibilities.

I highly recommend considering a fresh PSU for you. I’ve been reviewing your system and all its key components, which are from around three years ago (2020). However, when looking up your PSU online, there’s very little information available, not even on Amazon. The few results I found listed release dates of 2011 and 2014.

Your feedback brought me back to OCCT for a "power" check. It crashed after about 1 minute and 16 seconds, with the same beep indicating no GPU. I had to remove it and reinstall it. Now OCCT shows a "last status window" after crashes, which is helpful. I’m not very familiar with power and voltage details, but it looks like my issues are likely related to power.
