System freezes unexpectedly without clear cause.
A few days back I moved to Windows 8.1. Suddenly something would happen and it would restart. It would do this a couple of times during the day. Then it wouldn’t recognize my hard drive, so I had to press the power button to shut it down and then it would boot back into Windows. This never happened with Windows 7. Did anything change when I installed it? Should I reinstall Windows 8.1 or revert to Windows 7? I’ve tried using the repair tool from the installation disc, but it reported no fixes.
