Hey there, I'm trying to assist a friend with his Windows Vista setup. The system freezes during the boot process when pressing F2 or F11, and no keyboard input works. Switching keyboards hasn't helped, so it seems the issue isn't with the keyboard itself. I removed the CMOS battery and flashed the BIOS, which got past the boot menu and started up normally. After a regular boot, the computer restarts and loops back into the boot screen again—my colleague suspects this is due to an unlicensed copy of Vista. I recently tried flashing the BIOS again, but it still fails to progress beyond the startup screen. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Checks if storage usage is near the maximum allowed. They may avoid loading to protect the system if it approaches capacity.

I might transfer the hard drive to another machine, erase it, and then set up a fresh Windows installation.

This seems to be a serious issue with the system. It might be due to a failing hard drive or hardware failure. Disconnecting the drives and attempting a restart could help determine if the problem persists.

Remove all hard drives and check if you can enter BIOS quickly without a pause.

It showed me that error once, and that's how I resolved it. Thanks for the update!

It could be the cause. I experienced the same problem on my older machine (Abit VP6 with 2x Pentium III and 2GB RAM). The second Matshita CD drive stopped working, which led to the issue.

I’m back online now. Managed to extract the main hard drive, but it’s not starting up properly...

Attempted disconnecting the CD drive, but freezing persists.
