System freezes during boot due to BIOS issues
Hello everyone, when I powered on my PC this morning, the lights turned on, then off, and the system began to boot. Fans started spinning, but it became stuck on the AMIBIOS display (American Megatrends). That screen shows details about your motherboard, processor, RAM, drives, etc. It also displays a CPU fan error image, though I’ve noticed this message since I first assembled the machine—it hasn’t caused any problems before.
Below that error message, there’s a section with information about Intel Optane memory and RAID configuration. Maybe that’s connected to the issue?
On the AMIBIOS screen, pressing F1 launches the setup process, which leads me into the BIOS. From there, I can access the boot menu and select Windows Boot Manager to start the operating system. Once I do, a Republic of Gaming logo appears with a buffer icon. After a short pause, the window opens again, and everything functions normally.
I’ve tried restoring the system, but the problem remains. I’ve also tested turning the PC on with only the display and power adapter connected, plus removed all external drives and SSDs. Earlier, I experienced similar issues—my PC would fail to power on completely, with lights and fans cycling on and off. After several reboots and disconnections, it finally started after an NVIDIA and Windows update.
Now, it occasionally powers off and restarts itself. I haven’t added any new hardware, and the spec sheet matches exactly as it was when I built the system. I’ll share my PC specs and screens here for reference: [PC Specs Link].
