While playing games such as GTA V, Battlebit or GMod, my monitor suddenly goes black without any BSOD. My LEDs become unresponsive. After cleaning dust from my PC it still crashes, though it took more time. The GPU temperature reached about 70°C at the crash. I have the newest GPU drivers installed. What might be behind this issue?

Everything operating normally at normal rates? When did this begin? Did this problem only appear recently? What’s your CPU temperature during crashes? Have you verified your RAM meets stability requirements? Have you tested removing one stick of RAM to see if it improves performance? Are you using another GPU for testing?

1. Yes
2. In the past two weeks
3. Most recent reading was 60.1°C
4. Still not yet
5. No
6. MSI GTX 970 – Note: I was running GTA V to check CPU temperature during a crash when I pressed Alt-Tab, which led to my PC shutting down. Oddly enough, the screen didn’t freeze—it just stopped responding.

Occasionally the system freezes when no game is running. It stopped working during GTA V playtime and returned to black after restarting. You might want to check the power supply unit.

It seems you're considering a few potential steps. I can help monitor the voltage levels on 12v, 5v, and 3.3v if needed. Your wife's computer had some instability, and you noticed those voltages were close to specifications—12v was slightly below, 5v around 4.8v, and 3.3v under 3v. You checked the UEFI for issues. Additionally, you might want to verify system files for corruption by running a scan with sfc /scannow, and if needed, proceed with a clean installation using dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.
