I received a ROG Maximus Extreme XIII board equipped with an I9 11900K CPU and a 3080 Ti GPU, all installed via its three M.2 slots. This setup causes my card to run at 8x instead of the expected 16x. Performance in terms of FPS hasn’t changed much yet, though there’s no clear gain or loss at the moment. For future upgrades, I’m considering a 4090 card paired with an PCIe 8 x Gen 4 slot—wondering if that would match the performance of a 16x Gen 3 slot that still works well. Right now, my monitor is 1080p at 60Hz, but I plan to upgrade to a 2K or 4K display when displays improve, like with an OLED 27 2. I’ve attached some pages from my manual for reference.
