TL;DR: The logs from Event Viewer (ID51) suggest a power-related problem. All evidence leans toward an issue with the power supply, CPU, or motherboard. No clear fix found yet—seems like hardware failure is likely. Recent changes didn’t help. I’m unsure what exactly caused it, but I’m pretty sure it’s a power issue.

It looks like you haven't removed the RAM yet. Begin by testing one stick at a time inside the machine. If it doesn’t function properly, switch to another brand or model and check if it resolves the issue.

Consider swapping out parts such as RAM, the GPU, and even the CPU. Verify all cables are properly connected and secured. If nothing alters, try using a different CPU to confirm the issue lies with that component. You might also test your CPU on another machine for convenience. Let me know if this helps.

Click with the right mouse button, choose Save, and link it to a post. For many WHA events, include a few others.

Quick update: Swapped around all of the RAM into different slots, and used a cheaper DDR4 8GB kit different from my regular kit. Sadly none of this helped much. Was able to get a few moments of the windows login screen before crashing, but it was not a repeatable result. Reseated all power cables, both from the PSU and to all components. Didnt affect anything. What did finally help was swapping the 5900x for a 4100. Finally got it to boot into the windows login screen and can actually use the computer. The very first time I got it working, it did crash, however it has yet to crash for 30 minutes so far (This was with the 8GB ram stick installed.) Repaired windows to get that issue out of the way. Ran a little stress test with malwarebytes virus scan to push the CPU a bit, no issues. Unfortunately this is all I an do for today, I have to sleep before my next shift. Will be leaving the computer idle to see if it still crashes. I plan on swapping the 5900x and ram sticks around next. My gut feeling is that somehow the power delivery from the PSU or the Mobo is insufficient and causing the crashing. 4100 TDP is 65W, where the 5900x is 105W. The cheaper 8gb barebones ram stick likely has a lower TDP than the 2x16 kit with RGB. Ordering a 1000W PSU for testing.

Recent changes: Updated system bios to the latest version now that I have stable boot functionality. ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO BIOS 4805 (previously used with 4100 and 8GB DDR4 3200 CL22). Replaced 5900x, but it still won’t post with ASUS Q code "0d". Swapping the 4100 first gives code "b6" (NVRAM clear) and fails to boot. Restarting restores normal operation with the 4100, and the system remains stable enough for writing this note. This appears to be a recurring problem. I’ve rearranged the RAM sticks and am back to the original setup without issues. It seems the 5900x may have failed, but I can’t confirm at the moment. The 5900x worked well until July 3rd, and has been reliable since late February 2021. (Ordered during the pandemic shortage.) It was well cooled with an NHD15 and Thermal Grizley Kryonaught. I’ve placed an order for a new 5900x today to check if the issue is with my CPU or power supply. ($120 cheaper than a 5800X3D). I’ll keep updating as needed.

New 5900x doesnt work, same issues as the original. Sadly I believe this means Its a Mobo/PSU issue. Replaced the PSU, same issue. Sadly it seems this is a MOBO issue and it is out of warranty. Guess its time to upgrade.
